Lori's Engagement Weekend, Montauk, NY.
By Vivianne Cheyrange.

The weekend was here and we were excited to celebrate Lori’s engagement in Montauk, NY.

I picked up Damon on Friday afternoon from New York City. It was raining and the traffic was hectic. We drove over the Queensborough Bridge to 495 Long Island Expressway. Damon is Lori's good friend. They have been friends for many years. He lives in Brooklyn and works at a magazine company in New York City. Lori loves Damon dearly and she was very happy to know that he was joining us this weekend.

Damon and I drove for hours on 495. At one point, Damon had to use the bathroom. I drove to the side of the highway and asked him to go in the bushes. Damon looked at me and said, "Oh sweetie, I am not peeing in the bushes next to a highway!" I laughed because he said it in such a dramatic way.  I found a small gas station and I pulled over to the side. It was still raining. Damon got out of the car and went to the bathroom. I kept laughing at Damon's facial expressions. He told me that the bathroom was disgusting.

Damon and I were the first ones to arrive in the house. We were anxiously waiting for Lori. I couldn't wait to give my best friend a big hug and start our fun weekend together. Nick and Heather arrived shortly after Lori and Christina. We were all finally together.

John's Pancake House, Montauk NY.
Heather and I drove to town and bought dinner and plenty of wine and beer for our fun-filled weekend. We ate, drank and laughed together.

At dinner, we all had a story to share. Heather and Nick told us about their car accident.  They were hit by "an extremely pregnant woman who had a dog," said Heather. We couldn't believe it! Thank God it wasn't serious. Lori and Christina shared their story about a woman talking very loudly on the phone. I told the story about Damon refusing to pee next to the highway.

The house we rented was quaint. The style and décor was from the 70's. We found an amazing roof deck with an ocean view. I have to say that the view was spectacular! We spent a lot of time there, talking, drinking and sharing good laughs.

Lori looked happy. She had her best friends together celebrating her engagement. We talked about the wedding arrangements, the wedding party, dresses and flowers. Lori had great ideas and showed us beautiful pictures.

The next morning we went for a big breakfast. Lori suggested John's Pancake's House. The breakfast was good except for Christina's. Cute Christina ordered corn beef hash, eggs and pancakes. She wasn't happy. Cute Christina was pissed off about her food, especially the corn beef. It looked like Alpo. Yikes! Sorry Christina!

After breakfast we walked around town. Lori, Damon and I got in the car and drove to the light house. There were fearless surfers catching waves. We enjoyed the view and sat by the ocean.

It was then 3 pm when we left the light house.  We went back to the house and got ready to go out. Lori looked beautiful. She wore a cute dress with colorful prints and sexy shoes.

We drove to the Surf Lounge Bar around 6 pm. The crowd was nice. There were beautiful people hanging out by the bay. The sun was strong and the water was bright blue and green. We ordered exotic cocktails and listened to good music. All of a sudden, a band from Vancouver, Canada started playing music. Everyone gathered near the band and started to dance. It was so much fun.

By 7:30 pm we had dinner reservations at South Edison restaurant where we were meeting Nick and cute Christina. We ordered fresh clams and oysters. Lori had a lobster. The food was delicious and the service was good.

By Sunday morning we were exhausted, so  we went to the beach, laid on a sheet, had some wine and relaxed. We sat next to each other and talked for hours. Cute Christina "HO!" had to go home and took the train at 1:30 pm. The rest of us went for lunch and sat outside. It was another beautiful day by the water. It felt good to be together and Lori was happy.
